Harlem Children’s Zone (HCZ)

About HCZ: Since being founded in 1970 by Geoffrey Canada, Harlem Children’s Zone has been providing craddle-to-career resources at no-cost to the 97+ blocks in Harlem, NY. Sixty years later, they have become an example to organizations nationwide. I joined their team in 2021 as their first graphic designer and have since been creating any and all visual media from the annual Impact Report to every day program flyers.

400+ Icons

HCZ had just rebranded when I joined their team and had no visual library to help create content. HCZ covers community members of all ages and across many different backgrounds, so it was important to expand this library and create unique, specific illustrations to help bring information forward. Using the parameters from the new brand, I created over 400 icons and templates to help stakeholders communicate to our community in visually interesting ways that engaged them in our programs.
